Do you perform physical dimensional inspection?

No. We create the AS9102 paperwork (Forms 1-3 and ballooned drawings), but you are responsible for actually measuring your parts and recording the data. We don't have access to your physical parts or measurement equipment.

What exactly do I receive?

You receive an editable Excel workbook for AS9102 Forms 1, 2, and 3, plus PDF ballooned drawings and any supporting certification files provided with the order:

• All characteristics extracted from your drawing
• Proper GD&T callouts and datums documented
• Empty "Results" fields for you to fill with your measurements
• Ballooned drawing showing each inspection point
• Reference dimensions properly identified
• A completion checklist listing exactly what remains before submission
• A free pre-submission completeness review — send the finished package back and we check it before you submit

You then measure your parts and fill in the results.

Do you review my completed FAIR before I submit it?

Yes — one pre-submission review is included with every order. Once your team has entered the actual measurements, attached certs, and collected signatures, send the finished package back through the support form or your portal, and we'll check it for completeness and consistency: no blank fields, every characteristic has a recorded result, revisions and units line up, and any out-of-tolerance results are flagged for your disposition. Can you fill in my material and process certifications?

Yes — optionally. If you include your material certs and special process certs (heat treat, plating, anodize, NDT, etc.) with your drawing upload, we'll transcribe the certificate numbers, suppliers, and specifications onto Form 2 at no extra charge. If you don't have them yet, no problem: we flag the cert fields on Form 2 and list them on your completion checklist, and you add them when your certs arrive. Note that we transcribe certs as provided — we don't verify that a cert conforms to your drawing requirements.

What file formats do you accept?

We accept PDF, DWG, DXF, STEP (.step, .stp), and ZIP archives containing drawings or CAD files.

Do you provide CMM programming or inspection services?

No. We only provide documentation. We don't program CMMs, perform measurements, or provide inspection lab services.

Who is behind AS9102.report?

AS9102.report is a service of Harley & Son, an AS9100 Rev D certified, ITAR-registered precision manufacturer in La Mirada, California, producing metal and plastic components and assemblies for leading aerospace manufacturers including Raytheon and Safran. Every package is prepared by one of our FAIR experts — the same team that prepares AS9102 packages for our own production parts. This service extends that same expertise to you.

How is pricing calculated?

Pricing is based on drawing complexity using a scoring system that considers dimensions, GD&T callouts, special processes, critical characteristics, number of sheets, and assembly components. What if my drawing is more complex than estimated?

We review your drawings after upload and adjust pricing if needed before starting work. You'll always know the exact cost before we begin.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes. If you're not satisfied with the quality of our AS9102 documentation, we'll revise it or provide a full refund. See our Terms of Service for details.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards through Stripe (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover).

How long does it take?

Standard turnaround is 2–3 business days. Need it faster? Rush options deliver in as soon as 24 hours or less: 24-hour rush (+$100) or same-day (+$150).

How do I receive my completed AS9102 package?

Download directly from our secure customer portal. You'll receive an email notification when your package is ready.

Can I request revisions?

Yes. If we missed characteristics or made errors in documentation, we'll revise at no additional cost.

What if I upload the wrong drawing?

Contact us immediately through the support form. If we haven't started work, we can update the drawing at no charge.

Is your service ITAR compliant?

Yes. Harley & Son is ITAR registered. All files are stored in a FedRAMP High authorized cloud environment with FIPS 140-2 validated encryption, and accessed only by U.S. persons. See our Security & Compliance page for details.

How long do you keep my files?

Default retention is 90 days from delivery. You can request early deletion at any time.

Who has access to my drawings?

Only verified U.S. persons on our team with need-to-know access. All access is logged and monitored.

Are you AS9100 certified?

Harley & Son, the company behind AS9102.report, maintains AS9100 Rev D certification with the scope "Precision Manufacturing of Metal and Plastic Components and Assemblies at Production and Prototype Scales." Preparing AS9102 first article documentation is part of that quality system — it's how we qualify our own production parts. A copy of the certificate is available on request.

Is my drawing stored when I get an instant quote?

No. Drawings uploaded for a pricing estimate are analyzed in memory within AWS GovCloud (US) and are never written to storage. Only drawings uploaded after purchase are stored — in a FedRAMP High authorized environment, with 90-day retention.

Do you handle assemblies?

Yes. Assembly drawings are supported and priced based on the number of components and overall complexity.

What if my drawing has missing information?

We'll contact you if critical information is missing. However, we don't correct or complete engineering drawings — we document them as provided.

Do you interpret GD&T?

Yes. We document GD&T callouts according to ASME Y14.5 standards and identify datum references, modifiers, and tolerance zones.

Can you handle complex geometric tolerances?

Yes. Our team is trained in advanced GD&T including composite tolerances, datum reference frames, and feature control frames.
